At Creative Rights Law, our mission is simple: to protect and enforce the creative rights of artists, musicians, filmmakers, and innovators across the entertainment industry. As an attorney who’s both an artist and legal expert, I’m deeply committed to helping my clients navigate every aspect of their careers – from copyright and licensing to marketing, branding, and beyond.
A Life Dedicated to Music and Creativity
From the time I was a kid, I knew music would be part of my life. While it took some time for me to master an instrument, college was the turning point. Armed with a guitar, I taught myself how to play, and music became a constant in my life. Concerts were not just events – they were a lifestyle.
Before law school, I channeled my creative energy into photography. My love for both music and photography led me to own and publish my own magazine, where I had the incredible opportunity to photograph musicians and bands I idolized growing up. This hands-on experience in the entertainment industry shaped my perspective and deepened my connection with the artists I’ve always admired.
After selling the magazine, I was ready for a new challenge. That’s when I decided to go back to law school, driven by the idea that I could merge my passion for music with my legal career. Today, my work in entertainment law allows me to help creative geniuses protect their work and thrive.
A Holistic Approach to Legal Representation
Being an attorney isn’t just about drafting contracts or handling litigation. My approach is holistic – I want to be part of my clients’ journey, offering guidance not only on legal matters but on the big picture of their career. I aim to provide advice on marketing, branding, and even managing their image and likeness. The goal is to be more than a lawyer – I want to be part of the team that helps artists build and sustain their careers.
I’ve been fortunate to work on a number of high-profile cases, none of which I can name due to confidentiality.
Why Work with Me?
I’m not just an attorney – I’m an artist. My background as a professional photographer and magazine publisher gives me a unique perspective on the challenges artists face. I’ve lived through many of the same struggles my clients encounter, and I understand the creative mindset in a way that many attorneys cannot.
And as a musician, I can connect with clients on a personal and creative level. After meetings, it’s not uncommon for us to jam together. That’s the kind of relationship I aim to foster with my clients – one that’s not only professional but deeply collaborative.
